About Us

How We Got Started

San Tan Valley Homeschooling was founded in June 2023 out of a deep need for socialization for my 6-year-old son and 1-year-old. I’m Monique, and after trying numerous groups, I found that many were too far to drive to regularly. There weren’t many homeschool-specific groups in San Tan Valley, and while I attempted to host meetups in other groups, it just wasn’t working.

What started as a simple idea—offering free art and science lessons twice a month at my house to connect with local families—quickly grew into something much bigger. As interest grew, we needed more space and expanded our meetups. We began hosting field trips, touring local businesses, and creating unique experiences for both kids and parents.

This group has been truly life-changing for my family. Many families have formed lifelong friendships, and countless parents have found support on their homeschooling journey. We continue to grow and learn together every day.

Our Mission

San Tan Valley Homeschooling’s number one mission is to connect with the community. While we are a homeschool group, and most of our families are from the San Tan Valley and Queen Creek area, we welcome families from all over.

We strive to keep all events open and welcoming to children of all ages. There are no requirements for how many events a family must attend or which ones they participate in. Some families join us regularly, others attend when they can, and some have yet to make it to an event—but all are welcome!

Beyond events, we actively help families find resources, connect with vendors, and navigate the homeschooling journey. The only things we ask are to be kind and have fun!

What We Offer

We offer a variety of events and are always adding more! Each month, we host park playdates, simple meetups, large group field trips, free crafts, weekly PE classes, and a unit study.

In addition to our regular events, we have special interest groups, including:

  • Teens Group
  • Board Game Club
  • Pokémon Club
  • LEGO Club

We also organize large-scale events throughout the year, such as:

  • Entrepreneur Fairs
  • Science Fairs
  • And more!

Many of our events are free, and for those with a cost, ESA funds can be used, or a curriculum will be provided for reimbursement.

We believe community is just as important for parents, which is why we host Parent Socials twice a month—one with kids and one without—so parents can build connections, too!

Who We Serve

While most of our families are from the San Tan Valley and Queen Creek area, we have no residency requirements—everyone is welcome! Families from various cities often join us, especially for larger group field trips.

We also have a wide age range of children participating. Most events are geared toward toddlers through 12 years old, but we also offer teen-specific events for ages 14-18. Plus, we host parent-only events to help parents connect and build their own community.

No matter where you’re from or what stage of homeschooling you’re in, we’re here to support and grow together!
